All cultures contain and disdain truth, beauty and virtue. The challenge for Christians is to discern between what is good, true, and beautiful and what is evil, false, and ugly. Of course, cultural ethics are not so black and white; therefore, we believe that it is important to acknowledge and explore the gray, as well as celebrate what is good and reject what is evil.
Advocating neither a sectarian nor secularist stance towards culture, we encourage critical, theological, and redemptive engagement with culture. We believe that the gospel of Christ compels to do more than discern; it calls us to redemptively engage culture. As a result, it is our commitment to bring the light of the gospel into the darkness of broken culture. No stone of culture should be left unturned and Christians should be found among the faithful citizens who attempt to redress social concerns and promote cultural creativity.
We are committed to redemptively engaging culture, with the solid assurance that Jesus is sufficent for our cultural failures and strong for our successes.
